Monday Newsy Bits

I'm back from a really short vacation but it felt longer since I went computerless all weekend. I wish there were a ton of exciting things to talk about, but alas, just a few newsy bits.

The X-Fest Lineup was announced. So far, the lineup includes Social D, 30 Seconds to Mars, The Used, The Bravery, Sum 41, Say Anything, Shiny Toy Guns, and Plain White T's with 2 more bands to be announced. Tickets are already on sale. Last year I got tickets for $10 by going to the lottery at Coors, but doesn't sound like they did that this year. I am not gonna mock the lineup because it was clear to me last year that I'm really not in 91X's demographic anymore. The kids will love this show and all the Jared Leto haircuts should make for some good people watching. I'm a fan of Shiny Toy Guns, so hopefully they get some new fans from playing such a huge venue. As far as me going to this show, I'd gladly accept a comp ticket but won't be attending any other way. By the way, $57.45 for a pit ticket with service charges, so looks like prices went down from last year. Still way more than I would spend for pretty much any band.

The Civic Tour featuring Fall Out Boy, +44, Pall Wall and Cobra Starship has been postponed to July 1st so that Pete Wentz can handle some personal issues. Uh, ok.
*****
Les Claypool will be playing a solo tour that will pass through San Diego on June 26 at 4th & B. Presale tickets are available as of this morning here.

In other shows you're too cool to care about, Norah Jones is coming to Viejas Concerts at Bayside at the Embarcadero on June 19. Presale is over but regular tickets can be purchased starting on Saturday at 10. Beyoncé will be appearing at Coors on August 26. And scary- Clay Aiken will be at the Embarcadero on August 2.

Part of the 90's band James is reuniting for some summer tour dates in Europe. If you're a fan like I am, your fingers are crossed that they make their way back to America. In the meantime, they are releasing a best of CD called "Fresh As A Daisy" which will be a singles collection released April 30. It will be a UK release but available on Import on the same date. In addition, a video DVD will be released.
